President Murmu At Rajkot AIIMS Convocation: President Droupadi Murmu to Attend First Graduation Ceremony at AIIMS Rajkot

Rajkot, Gujarat: In a significant moment for medical education in Gujarat, President Murmu At Rajkot AIIMS Convocation will mark a historic occasion as the President of India, Droupadi Murmu, is scheduled to visit Rajkot on Monday to attend the first-ever convocation ceremony of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in the city. The event represents an important milestone for the prestigious medical institute and the first batch of graduating medical students.

According to official details, President Murmu will arrive at Rajkot Hirasar Airport at around 3:00 PM. From there, she will travel by helicopter directly to AIIMS Rajkot, where she will serve as the chief guest at the institute’s inaugural convocation ceremony.

During the ceremony, a total of 50 students from the first MBBS batch will receive their medical degrees, marking the completion of their academic journey at the institute. Among these graduates, 10 students will be honored with gold medals in recognition of their outstanding academic performance.

The event will also be attended by Acharya Devvrat, who is expected to join the ceremony as a distinguished guest. The presence of both the President and the Governor highlights the importance of the occasion for the state’s healthcare and education sectors.

The Rajkot campus of All India Institute of Medical Sciences is Gujarat’s first AIIMS institution. It was officially inaugurated on February 25, 2024, by the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi. Since its inauguration, the institute has been viewed as a major step toward strengthening medical infrastructure and providing world-class healthcare and medical training in the region.

Manav Utkarsh Mahotsav to Begin in Rajkot

Apart from the convocation event, Rajkot will also host a major spiritual and cultural gathering in the coming days. The BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha has announced the grand “Manav Utkarsh Mahotsav,” which will take place from April 11 to April 17, 2026, at the Race Course Ground.

Before the official start of the festival, a grand Pothi Yatra (religious procession) was organized on Friday afternoon from the BAPS temple to the Race Course Ground. The procession witnessed enthusiastic participation from over 2,500 women and young girls, all dressed in traditional attire, creating a vibrant and spiritual atmosphere across the city.

One of the major highlights of the week-long festival will be daily spiritual discourses by internationally known motivational speaker Apurvamuni Swami. Over six consecutive days, he will deliver inspirational talks focusing on values, spirituality, and personal growth.

The festival will also include a unique Family Peace Yagna performed daily by children aged between 3 and 13 years. This special ritual has previously earned recognition in the Guinness World Records for its scale and participation.

Massive Preparations for the Festival

Organizers have made large-scale arrangements across a 4 lakh square foot venue at the Race Course Ground. The venue has been equipped with 50,000 chairs, 1,000 sofas, a massive 40-foot LED screen, and two artistic entry gates measuring 135 feet in width.

Visitors will also witness a 25-foot-tall statue of Neelkanth Varni along with replicas of seven traditional Sanatan temples, which are expected to be major attractions for devotees and visitors.

In a modern twist, the festival will also incorporate AI technology and digital visual presentations to deliver spiritual messages in an engaging format. Religious leaders including Brahmateerth Swami and other saints have invited devotees and the public to attend the event and experience the spiritual celebrations.

With the historic President Murmu At Rajkot AIIMS Convocation and the upcoming Manav Utkarsh Mahotsav, the city of Rajkot is set to witness a combination of academic achievement, cultural celebration, and spiritual inspiration in the coming days.
