Ganeshotsav 2026: Adani Group Joins 107-Year-Old Chinchpokli Chintamani Mandal in Mumbai

Mumbai: The grandeur of Mumbai’s world-famous Ganesh festival is set to reach another level during Ganeshotsav 2026, with the Adani Group formally joining hands with the historic Chinchpokli Chintamani Mandal in Parel. The association brings together one of Mumbai’s oldest Ganesh mandals and one of India’s leading corporate groups, adding a new dimension to the city’s traditional celebrations.
The Chinchpokli Chintamani Mandal, located in the Parel-Chinchpokli belt of central Mumbai, has a long-standing connection with the city’s Ganeshotsav celebrations. The mandal is regarded as one of the prominent and historic Ganesh organisations in the former Girangaon mill district, an area historically associated with Mumbai’s mill workers and their communities.
The annual arrival procession of the mandal attracts more than 100,000 devotees, making it one of the major gatherings during Mumbai’s Ganesh festival. This year, the grand arrival procession of Lord Ganesha is scheduled to take place on August 29, drawing thousands of devotees and visitors to the streets of central Mumbai.
Adani Group’s Association With Chinchpokli Chintamani Mandal
The partnership marks a significant development in the evolving landscape of Mumbai’s Ganeshotsav. Corporate participation in the city’s major public Ganesh celebrations has increased in recent years. The Ambani Group, for instance, has been actively associated with the famous Lalbaugcha Raja celebrations.
Now, the Adani Group, led by Gautam Adani, has entered into an exclusive partnership with the Chinchpokli Chintamani Mandal. The collaboration is expected to strengthen arrangements related to devotee management, logistics, crowd control and infrastructure during the festival.
The association also reflects how traditional community-led celebrations are increasingly adopting modern systems while retaining their cultural and religious character.
Tirupati Balaji Theme to Be a Major Attraction
One of the biggest highlights of Ganeshotsav 2026 at the Chinchpokli Chintamani Mandal will be the elaborate pandal design. This year, the organisers are preparing the pandal around the theme of the famous Tirupati Balaji Temple in Andhra Pradesh.
Along with the Tirupati-inspired design, the mandal is also preparing a grand replica of Hyderabad’s renowned Swarnagiri Temple. The elaborate decorations are expected to become a major attraction for devotees visiting the mandal during the festival.
Pranil Panchal, vice-president of the mandal, said the celebrations would be considerably larger this year. He explained that the organisers are working to give the festival a more impressive presentation while preserving the traditions associated with the mandal. He also confirmed the special partnership with the Adani Group for this year’s celebrations.
More Than a Century of Tradition
The Chinchpokli Chintamani Mandal has been associated with Mumbai’s Ganeshotsav tradition for more than a century. Its roots go back to the 1920s, when the Girangaon area was closely connected with the city’s mill workers and their families.
Over the years, the mandal has developed into an important part of Mumbai’s public Ganesh festival culture. Its annual arrival procession has become a major event, with a huge crowd gathering to welcome Lord Ganesha.
However, the mandal’s activities are not limited to the annual festival. Throughout the year, it is involved in social initiatives covering areas such as healthcare, education and community service.

Traditional Faith Meets Modern Arrangements
Mumbai’s Ganeshotsav is known not only for its religious significance but also for its strong community participation. The Lalbaug, Parel and Chinchpokli areas form one of the central hubs of the city’s celebrations, attracting devotees from Mumbai as well as visitors from different parts of Maharashtra and beyond.
The involvement of major corporate groups with historic public mandals is also changing the way large-scale celebrations are organised. Financial and organisational support can help mandals improve medical facilities, crowd management, devotee safety, logistics and other infrastructure required to handle enormous gatherings.
The partnership between the Adani Group and Chinchpokli Chintamani Mandal is therefore being seen as a combination of Mumbai’s long-standing Ganeshotsav tradition and modern event management. With a Tirupati Balaji-inspired pandal, a Swarnagiri Temple replica and an arrival procession expected to attract more than a lakh devotees, Ganeshotsav 2026 is poised to be a major celebration in Mumbai’s cultural calendar.
