Sugam Digital Gujarat has received an encouraging response from citizens across Gujarat, with more than one lakh people obtaining important government certificates online from the comfort of their homes in just four months. The initiative, launched to make citizen services faster and more accessible, has brought several essential certificates online and reduced the need for people to visit government offices.
The state government has been steadily expanding the digitisation of public services, particularly those required for welfare schemes, education, scholarships and employment-related processes. Under the Sugam Digital Gujarat initiative, citizens can now apply online for seven different types of certificates, including caste, income and eligibility-related documents.
According to information issued by the Directorate of Developing Caste Welfare, more than one lakh citizens have successfully used these online services during the past four months.
