Bharuch Sidsar Illegal Madrassa Case

Bharuch Connection Emerges in Sidsar Illegal Madrasa Case, Multi-Agency Investigation Intensifies

Bharuch: The investigation into the alleged illegal madrasa operating in Sidsar village of Bhavnagar district has now expanded to Bharuch, with investigators examining fresh leads that surfaced during the ongoing probe. Police officials believe the latest developments could help uncover new aspects of the case as multiple agencies continue their investigation.

The Bhavnagar Special Operations Group (SOG), along with Bharuch Police and central intelligence agencies, carried out a joint investigation at a madrasa located in the Jambusar area of Bharuch district. Officials also brought Maulana Mohammad Sharif, who is currently in police custody, to Bharuch as part of the inquiry to verify information collected during questioning.

Bharuch Investigation Gains Momentum

The investigation took a significant turn after authorities found information indicating possible links between the Bhavnagar case and Bharuch. Acting on these leads, the Bhavnagar SOG team reached Jambusar to inspect the Jamiah Uloomul Quran Madrasa and gather additional evidence.

Senior officers from Bhavnagar Police, Bharuch Police, and central intelligence agencies remained present during the operation. Officials examined records, administrative documents, and other materials related to the functioning of the madrasa as part of the ongoing investigation.

Authorities have not disclosed the exact nature of the findings, stating that the investigation is still underway and that all available evidence is being carefully examined.

Multiple Agencies Working Together

Considering the seriousness of the case, central intelligence agencies have also joined the investigation. Officials are conducting detailed questioning of Maulana Mohammad Sharif to understand various aspects linked to the alleged illegal madrasa.

Investigators are trying to establish how the institution was managed, identify individuals associated with its operations, and determine whether there were connections with any other locations or organizations. Officials are also examining records that could help map the broader network linked to the case.

The coordinated effort between local police and intelligence agencies aims to ensure that every lead is thoroughly verified before any conclusions are drawn.

Seized Documents to Undergo Forensic Examination

As part of the investigation, authorities have decided to send the material seized earlier from the alleged illegal madrasa operating in Gujarat Housing Board premises in Bhavnagar for forensic analysis.

The seized items include books written in Urdu and Arabic, handwritten diaries, and several other documents collected during previous search operations. These materials will now be examined at the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL).

Investigators believe the forensic examination could provide important information regarding the activities carried out at the premises and help establish additional facts relevant to the investigation.

Focus on Network and Possible Connections

The investigation is now focusing on the contacts, activities, and alleged network linked to Maulana Mohammad Sharif. Officials are verifying whether any individuals or institutions outside Bhavnagar had any role or association with the operation of the madrasa.

Following the emergence of the Bharuch connection, investigators are expanding their inquiry and collecting evidence from multiple locations. Authorities are examining every available angle to ensure that the investigation remains comprehensive and evidence-based.

Officials have not announced any fresh arrests or additional charges at this stage. They have maintained that further action will depend on the findings of the ongoing investigation and the evidence collected during searches and forensic analysis.
