Six Empty Cartridges Collected From Encounter Site as Forensic Team Examines Evidence
Anand Encounter: Police and forensic authorities have launched a detailed investigation following the police encounter in Vasad, Anand district, in which the prime suspect in the abduction and murder of a four-year-old girl was shot dead. As part of the post-encounter legal process, a team from the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) visited the scene, collected evidence, and documented the circumstances surrounding the police firing.
The encounter has drawn significant public attention due to the nature of the crime and the sequence of events that followed. Officials have confirmed that all procedures required after a police firing are being carried out, including forensic examination and internal documentation.
Suspect Allegedly Tried to Escape After Attacking Police
According to the police, the accused, identified as Suresh Parmar, was being escorted by officers from the Local Crime Branch (LCB) when he allegedly attempted to flee. Investigators said the suspect attacked members of the police team during transit in an effort to escape custody.
Police officials stated that officers responded to the alleged attack in self-defence. During the exchange, the suspect sustained fatal injuries. The incident is now undergoing a standard legal review to determine the exact sequence of events and ensure that all procedures were followed.
Authorities have not disclosed additional operational details as the investigation remains ongoing.
FSL Team Collects Scientific Evidence From the Scene
Soon after the encounter, a team from the Forensic Science Laboratory reached the location to conduct a scientific examination of the site. Officials said six empty cartridge cases were recovered from the scene and seized as part of the forensic investigation. These cartridges are expected to undergo laboratory analysis to verify ballistic evidence and support the official inquiry into the police firing.

PSI Present During Documentation Process
Police Sub-Inspector I.J. Rana, who was reportedly involved in the encounter, remained present during the preparation of the official panchnama and other procedural formalities at the scene.
According to preliminary information shared by the police, PSI Rana discharged six rounds during the incident while responding to the alleged attack. Investigators are expected to examine the weapon used, the recovered cartridges, and other forensic material as part of the ongoing inquiry.
Officials have not announced when the forensic analysis will be completed.
Anand SP Reviews Incident at the Spot
Anand Superintendent of Police G.G. Jasani visited the encounter site shortly after the incident to review the circumstances surrounding the police operation.
Senior officers briefed the SP about the sequence of events, including the alleged escape attempt and the police response. The district police chief also reviewed the preliminary findings at the location and issued directions for the continuation of the investigation.
Police sources said the inquiry will include examination of witness statements, forensic reports, and all available evidence before the final report is prepared.
