The incident occurred on June 22 at a hotel near Bapa Sitaram Chowk in Sarthana. While the 23-year-old woman died during treatment on the same day, her husband, who was admitted to a private hospital in critical condition, succumbed to his injuries a day later.
Couple Found Unconscious in Hotel Room
According to police and local sources, the couple checked into a room at a hotel located in Silver Business Hub. Investigators said they consumed a poisonous substance believed to be a pesticide inside Room No. 103.
The woman, identified as Mansi Umretiya, and her husband Abhay Trada, both aged 23, were rushed to a hospital after the incident came to light. Doctors declared Mansi dead shortly after she was brought in, while Abhay underwent treatment in critical condition. Despite medical efforts, he passed away on June 23.
Authorities are continuing their investigation to determine all circumstances surrounding the deaths.
Emotional Messages Sent Before the Incident
One of the most heartbreaking aspects of the case is the final messages the couple reportedly sent to their loved ones before consuming poison.
Police sources said Mansi sent a message to her father expressing affection and concern for her family. In her final communication, she reportedly asked him to take care of her mother and ended the message with the words, “I love you.”
Abhay is said to have sent a message to his brother explaining the reason behind their decision. According to reports, he mentioned that the couple was distressed because a date for their social wedding ceremony had not been finalized. He also reportedly stated that no one should be held responsible for their actions.

Investigators and family sources revealed that Mansi and Abhay had been in a relationship for several years. Around two years ago, they reportedly entered into a legal court marriage.
Later, both families accepted the relationship, and the couple became formally engaged about one-and-a-half years ago. Relatives said preparations were expected to move toward a traditional community wedding ceremony in the future.
However, the social wedding had not yet taken place. Police are examining whether delays related to the ceremony or other personal factors contributed to the couple’s emotional distress.

Background of the Couple
Mansi had reportedly been working for the past several months at a property-related office in the Sarthana area. Her father is associated with the sand and construction materials business and originally belongs to a village in Gujarat’s Amreli district.
Abhay was involved in property brokerage work, while his father worked in the diamond industry. His family originally hails from the Junagadh region of Gujarat.
Family members described the couple as deeply attached to each other and said they had hoped to begin their married life formally after the traditional wedding ceremony.
