Gondal-Bhandariya Murder Case: Man Arrested Hours After Friend Dies in Alleged Assault During Dinner Dispute

Police say argument over abusive language turned fatal in Rajkot district village

Investigators allege that a 28-year-old man was beaten to death by his friend following a heated argument while the two were having dinner at a farm in Bhandariya village of Gujarat’s Rajkot district.

The accused has been taken into custody, and police have launched further legal proceedings while continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the fatal assault.

Fatal argument at a farm in Bhandariya village

According to police, the incident took place late on the night of July 18, 2026, at a farm located on the outskirts of Bhandariya village in Gondal taluka. The victim, identified as Lalji Dabsara (28), had reportedly visited the farm owned by his friend Nitin Makwana.

During dinner, a disagreement reportedly broke out between the two men over the use of abusive language. Investigators said the argument quickly escalated into a physical confrontation after repeated requests to stop using offensive words allegedly led to rising tensions.

What began as a verbal dispute soon turned violent, resulting in a tragic loss of life.

Police allege accused attacked victim with a wooden stick

According to the initial police investigation, Nitin Makwana allegedly struck Lalji Dabsara multiple times with a wooden stick during the altercation. The victim reportedly suffered severe injuries to his head and face.

Due to the seriousness of the injuries, Lalji died at the scene before he could receive medical assistance. The incident has left residents of the village shocked, as the two men were known to each other and were reportedly spending time together before the confrontation turned deadly.

Police are treating the case as a homicide and are gathering additional evidence to establish the complete sequence of events.

Family lodged complaint with Sultanpur Police

Following the incident, the victim’s elder brother, Jagdishbhai Dabsara, filed a formal complaint against the accused at Sultanpur Police Station.

Based on the complaint and preliminary findings, police registered a murder case and immediately began an intensive investigation. Officers visited the crime scene, collected physical evidence, and recorded statements from individuals who could assist with the inquiry.

The complaint formed the basis for the criminal case against the accused, who was later apprehended by police.
